Rio Ferdinand has voiced serious concerns about Manchester United’s struggles this season, even suggesting they might face relegation.

After their 1-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday, the Red Devils have dropped to 15th place in the Premier League, just 12 points above the relegation zone.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former United defender, who won six league titles with the club, admitted that he only sees one winnable game left for Erik ten Hag’s men—against Leicester City.

“United are really struggling right now,” Ferdinand said. “Only Wolves and West Ham are between us and the relegation spots.

Someone mentioned we need 11 points to stay up, and honestly, I’m starting to think like that. I looked at the fixture list, and I’m being serious—where are the wins coming from?”

He then listed United’s upcoming games, including tough clashes against Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, and Newcastle.

“The only game where I even think we have a chance— and I’m not even saying a guaranteed win—is Leicester. We’ve beaten them a couple of times already this season, so maybe we can do it again.”

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has assured fans that the team is ready to fight for glory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament kicks off today with hosts Morocco facing Ghana’s Copper Queens in the opening match.

Nigeria will begin their campaign on Sunday against Tunisia at the Labri Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. This will be only the second time both teams are meeting at WAFCON, with their first clash in 2008 ending goalless in Equatorial Guinea. The Super Falcons, who had a disappointing outing three years ago finishing fourth, are determined to bounce back and go for their tenth continental title.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Ajibade expressed confidence in the squad’s mindset. “We’re happy to be here and ready to give our all,” she said during a recent CAF webinar. “We know the road won’t be easy, but we’re prepared to give it everything.”
