Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has raised concerns for her safety and that of her one-year-old son, Liam.

In a recent chat with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Omowunmi revealed that she constantly receives death threats and no longer feels safe.

She also accused her late husband’s former boss, Naira Marley, and his associates of attacking her.

Adding to her troubles, she claimed Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, is fighting to take control of the late singer’s properties and has been making life difficult for her.

“I get death threats almost every day. It has gotten to the point where I either speak up or suffer in silence,” she said.

She expressed concern about how Afrobeats is becoming too repetitive and urged artists to experiment with new sounds.

“Afrobeats and African music need to evolve. It needs to evolve in a direction that is fearless, and I think right now artists have made so much money from a certain type of sound that they are afraid to step out of the boundaries because they are probably more focused on the financial aspect of it. And as a result, I think Afrobeats has stalled.”

The singer then gave an example, commenting on how Rema did just that with his recent album “HEIS”.
