Kim Soo-hyun Loses Major Endorsements Over Dating Scandal with Kim Sae-ron
South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, renowned for his roles in popular dramas such as “My Love from the Star” and “Queen of Tears,” is currently facing significant professional setbacks due to allegations about his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron.
These allegations suggest that Kim Soo-hyun, now 37, was involved with Kim Sae-ron when she was underage, leading to the termination of several endorsement deals.
However, luxury fashion house Prada, which had appointed Kim Soo-hyun as a brand ambassador three months prior, announced the mutual termination of their contract. A Prada Korea representative stated, “In consideration of the gravity of the issue, we have mutually agreed to terminate our contract with actor Kim Soo Hyun.”
Similarly, South Korean cosmetic brand Dinto ended its advertising agreement with the actor, citing substantial grounds that made the continuation of the contract unfeasible.
The controversy intensified following claims that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron starting in 2015, when she was 15 and he was 27, with the relationship allegedly lasting six years. These allegations surfaced after Kim Sae-ron was found deceased in February 2025.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Goldmedalist, denied these claims, asserting that the two were not in a relationship during Kim Sae-ron’s minor years and that Kim Soo-hyun is being unfairly linked to her death.
