Funke Akindele Says Success Comes from Hard Work and Doing Tough Jobs
Funke Akindele, a well-known Nigerian actress and producer, recently shared some real talk about what it truly takes to succeed. During a chat on the ‘WithChude’ podcast, she made it clear that anyone aiming for greatness must be ready to roll up their sleeves and do the gritty work most people shy away from.
According to her, success doesn’t just come from talent or luck. It’s built on hard work, consistency, and being fully committed to one’s goals. Funke pointed out that many people admire her achievements and want the same spotlight, but what they often miss is the behind-the-scenes hustle.
“I tell them all the time—if you want to make it, you have to put in serious effort and handle the tough parts nobody talks about,” she said.
She added that despite her fame, she doesn’t let it distract her. Instead, she keeps her head down, stays focused, and avoids getting carried away by praise or current wins. For her, staying original and being aware of who she is has been key to staying ahead in the game.
Though she acknowledges the role of spirituality, she believes her drive, attention to detail, and passion for excellence are what truly fuel her success—especially her impressive run of box office hits over the past four years.
Funke also opened up about dealing with personal challenges. She explained that when life gets tough, she chooses not to let it weigh her down or stop her from moving forward.
