Nigerian reality star DeeOne has shared his thoughts on gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori‘s apology over her comments regarding the Oyo State abduction incident.

The singer faced backlash after stating that Nigerians should pray for the president and that the government was doing its best to address the country’s challenges. However, she later apologized following criticism from the public.

Reacting to the apology, DeeOne said she apologized because of public pressure and questioned how a spiritual minister could allow public opinion to shake her stance.

Nigerian rapper Illbliss has spoken against tribalism in Nigeria. He urged Nigerians to accept that people live outside their states of origin and that there is no need to criticize or ask someone to return to their state.

He also spoke about Lagos State, noting that although it is predominantly Yoruba land, Igbos have built successful lives and businesses there.

“The Igbos have given a lot to the Lagos economy in terms of trade and commerce. I wonder how this town will be if you told every Igbo man to leave. So, I’m always shocked whenever I hear comments like, ‘If you’re not from Lagos State, go back to your state.'”
