Rema, a renowned Nigerian singer, recently discussed his decision to revamp the Afrobeats genre in his sophomore album, ‘He Is.’ He believes that the genre was becoming monotonous due to his peers diluting its essence, prompting him to innovate and maintain its relevance. He emphasized that continually diluting the music would make it easier for others to recreate it, warning that this would lead to losing the unique essence of Afrobeats.
