Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has shared her thoughts on Nigeria’s intense 2-1 win over South Africa in the WAFCON semi-final. Ajibade played a key role in the victory, scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot just before halftime. Her performance earned her the Woman of the Match award—her third in the tournament so far.

Speaking after the match, the 25-year-old acknowledged the challenge, saying, “We knew it would be tough. Every match in this tournament has tested us. South Africa is a strong team, and we’ve met them on several big occasions, from Olympic qualifiers to WAFCON, so we came prepared for anything.”

The win also snapped South Africa’s 15-match unbeaten run in the WAFCON finals. With this victory, Nigeria now heads to the final, where they’ll face host nation Morocco on Saturday in Rabat. Morocco booked their spot after edging past Ghana in a dramatic penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw after extra time.
