Anne Hathaway Confirms Return for “The Princess Diaries 3”
Disney is moving ahead with *The Princess Diaries 3*, and Anne Hathaway has officially confirmed her return as Mia Thermopolis, the role that launched her career over 20 years ago. Hathaway shared her excitement by posting about the news on social media, along with a playful nod to the iconic “Shut up!” line from the original film.
Previously, she hinted at the film’s progress in an interview, and fans have eagerly awaited this confirmation since the 2004 release of *The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement*.
Adele Lim, known for *Crazy Rich Asians* and *Raya and the Last Dragon*, will direct the third installment, bringing a fresh perspective to the beloved series. Lim expressed her excitement to join the franchise, emphasizing its themes of female empowerment and joy. While plot details are still under wraps, the third film will continue Mia’s story rather than reboot the franchise.
