APC Chieftain Joe Igbokwe Warns Igbos in Lagos to Avoid Protests, Citing 2020 #EndSARS Unrest
Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has advised Igbos living in Lagos not to participate in any protests. He shared this warning on Facebook under the title “AN HONEST ADVICE FOR IGBO ACROSS NIGERIA ESPECIALLY IN LAGOS.”
Igbokwe, who has lived in Lagos for over 40 years, cautioned against joining protests, citing the damaging effects of the #EndSARS protests in 2020, which strained the relationship between the Igbo community and Lagos residents.
He expressed concern that recent protest movements, influenced by Labour Party supporters, could lead to similar unrest.
He stressed that Lagos leaders are determined not to let a repeat of the 2020 events happen. “2020 is not 2024. I will not speak further.
Read my lips,” he wrote, urging Igbos to take precautionary measures and avoid engaging in activities that could provoke conflict.

President Tinubu Speaks on CNG Benefits and Calls for Relief for Commuters
President Bola Tinubu speaks on CNG in Nigeria and shares how the benefits from it aren’t even helping the government but are going into the pockets of truck owners.
While speaking on his promise to help the refinery and the removal of the fuel subsidy to better the country, he spoke on CNG:
“Equally, the introduction of compressed natural gas — well, I will appeal to you: we will do more and encourage you, but ask your drivers to let the benefits trickle down to commuters too, because whatever benefit is coming from CNG is going into the pockets of truck owners. It’s not spreading as fast as I would like, but it should spread.
“The refineries you mentioned are going to come back to work. We’re just building a very firm reset and structural reworking of the economics of it.”
