on

A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an arrest warrant for British citizen Andrew Wynne and several Nigerians on charges related to treason and terrorism. Justice Emeka Nwite granted the warrant following an ex-parte motion filed by the Inspector-General of Police and presented by lawyer Audu Garba.

The motion alleges that Wynne and others conspired to overthrow President Bola Tinubu through unconstitutional means. The defendants are also accused of orchestrating attacks on government buildings, including the High Court Complex and Government House in Kano.

The court was informed that the defendants, now in hiding, are being pursued by security agencies. The warrant is intended to enable law enforcement to arrest the individuals involved. The charges against the accused include conspiracy, incitement to mutiny, and acts of terrorism, as specified under the Penal Code. Justice Nwite deemed the motion “meritorious” and granted the request, emphasizing the need to secure the arrest of those implicated in these serious allegations.
