BLACKPINK’s Rosé has officially parted ways with the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), making her the first major Korean artist to do so in over two decades.

According to KOMCA, Rosé submitted her request to withdraw on October 31, 2024, and her contract officially ended on January 31, 2025. The organization, which represents over 50,000 members, plays a key role in protecting artists’ copyrights and collecting royalties.

Rosé’s decision comes after the massive success of her song “APT.” last October, which further solidified her position on the global stage. As she focuses more on international projects, managing her copyrights overseas is expected to be more efficient.

Last September, she signed an exclusive contract with Atlantic Records, a major label under Warner Music Group.

Moving forward, her copyrights will be handled through Atlantic in partnership with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), which represents nearly a million songwriters and composers.
