Social media crossdresser Okuneye Idris, widely known as Bobrisky, found himself in a troubling situation on Thursday night when he was removed from a KLM flight heading to Amsterdam and detained by immigration officers.

The popular cross-dresser took to Instagram to inform his followers about the incident, revealing that he had sustained injuries during a confrontation with the officers.

Bobrisky claimed that his detention was orchestrated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), appealing to his fans for help.

He wrote, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”

His plea explains the ongoing struggles he has faced with authorities, particularly since he was previously intercepted at the Sème border on October 22 while allegedly trying to leave the country.

The controversy surrounding Bobrisky began earlier this year in April 2024 when he was sentenced to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos for abusing the naira.

This sentencing ignited speculation and accusations that his release was hastened through bribery, with reports suggesting that a ₦15 million payment was made to officials for preferential treatment during his imprisonment.

The situation further escalated in late September 2024 when social media influencer VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording that allegedly featured Bobrisky.

In this recording, Bobrisky purportedly claimed that music artist Falz and his father, the prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, approached him during his time in prison, asking for ₦10 million to facilitate a presidential pardon.

In light of these claims, Falana and Falz took legal action, issuing a cease-and-desist letter on October 16, demanding that Bobrisky retract his statements and issue a public apology for what they deemed defamatory remarks.

Bobrisky, however, has denied making these allegations, asserting that he was not responsible for the leaked recording and urging the Falanas to hold VeryDarkMan accountable for the content.
