American rapper Cardi B has expressed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s nominee for the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

Cardi B’s endorsement comes after President Joe Biden’s recent decision to step aside as the Democratic candidate and endorse Harris as his successor.

In her response to the announcement via her X account, Cardi B enthusiastically celebrated Biden’s endorsement of Harris, writing: “Aha hahaha let’s go! I told y’all Kamala [Harris] was supposed to be the 2024 candidate… Stop f*ckin playin’ with me!”

Earlier this year, Cardi B had publicly criticized both Biden and Republican candidate Donald Trump. In an interview with Rolling Stone in May, she mentioned that she would abstain from voting in the November election if Biden and Trump were the primary contenders.

Cardi B described Trump as a serious threat in the past but noted that under Biden’s administration, she has been increasingly disillusioned by what she perceives as failures in both domestic and international policies.
