Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has expressed confidence in Kylian Mbappe’s ability to shine at Santiago Bernabeu.

The French forward, who joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024, has faced challenges in meeting the high expectations set for him since his arrival.

Mbappe’s struggles, however, took a promising turn on Sunday, December 1, when he found the back of the net during Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory against Getafe in La Liga.

The 25-year-old scored in the 38th minute, delivering a much-needed goal for the reigning champions.

Later, Jude Bellingham converted a penalty to seal the win, further solidifying Real Madrid’s position in the league standings.

Speaking about Mbappe’s performance and potential, Courtois used a vivid metaphor to describe the forward’s journey.

Kylian Mbappe is a player with great quality. It’s like a bottle with liquid inside that seems stuck, but when it flows, it all comes out.

That’s what’s going to happen to him, said the Belgian goalkeeper, emphasizing his belief that Mbappe’s talent will soon be fully unleashed.

Mbappe’s move to Madrid was one of the most talked-about transfers in recent years.

The Spanish club had been pursuing him relentlessly, previously failing to secure his signature on two occasions despite intense negotiations.

PSG fought hard to keep their star player, but the Frenchman ultimately made his highly anticipated move to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2024.

Renowned for his blistering pace, clinical finishing, and unmatched flair, Mbappe was expected to hit the ground running upon joining Real Madrid.

While his start has been slower than anticipated, his goal against Getafe signals that he may be finding his rhythm.
