Dangote Urges Nigerian Government to Remove Petrol Subsidy
Aliko Dangote, founder of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, has called on the Nigerian government to end the petrol subsidy, stating that it is no longer sustainable.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV on September 24, Dangote argued that subsidies create price distortions and burden the government.
He emphasized that his refinery would track fuel sales to ensure accurate consumption rates.
While the decision lies with the government, Dangote highlighted that continuing the subsidy is not feasible in the long term due to its financial strain.

Kaduna Confirms One Death Among 86 Suspected Cholera Cases
The Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency reported one death out of 86 suspected cholera cases. Hamza Ibrahim-Ikara, the Director of Public Health, shared this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Kaduna.
He mentioned that while cholera had spread across 30 states in the last five months, Kaduna remained unaffected until August 15. The first case was a 16-year-old boy from Likoro in Kudan LGA, who died before receiving treatment. After his death, the state activated its rapid response team on August 16. Since then, 19 cases appeared in Kudan, Sabon Gari, and Kubau LGAs. Out of 86 suspected cases across nine LGAs, 24 patients have recovered and been discharged.
