Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid Lead Nominations for 2024 AAEA Awards
Nigerian music superstars Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid have garnered the most nominations for the 2024 Africa Arts Entertainments Awards (AAEA). Davido leads with twelve nominations, followed by Burna Boy with ten, and Wizkid with seven.
All three artists are vying for top honors in categories such as AAEA Best Continental Male Artiste and AAEA Continental Artiste of the Year.Other notable nominees include Rema, Tems, Omah Lay, Yemi Alade, Asake, Tiwa Savage, Simi Kosoko, Majeed, Lojay, Ayra Starr, and Kizz Daniel.
The AAEA celebrates the achievements of African music artists, recognizing their talent and success across various categories, including Best Continental Male Artiste, Continental Artiste of the Year, Continental Album/EP of the Year, Best Continental Int’l Feature, Best Continental Afro RnB Hit, and Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit. This year’s awards ceremony is set to take place on August 17 in Kenya.

While speaking, he expressed his disappointment with not having a send-forth after his contribution to the media house. “I worked in Wazobia for 13 years plus and when I resigned, they didn’t even do me a send-forth…”

The singer shared his reason as he revealed this, stating he wants to pursue his career solo before any big collaboration.
“After we dropped the hit song ‘With You’, Davido called me for a new collaboration but I declined because I have my career to pursue too.”
