Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid Lead Nominations for 2024 AAEA Awards

Nigerian music superstars Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid have garnered the most nominations for the 2024 Africa Arts Entertainments Awards (AAEA). Davido leads with twelve nominations, followed by Burna Boy with ten, and Wizkid with seven.
All three artists are vying for top honors in categories such as AAEA Best Continental Male Artiste and AAEA Continental Artiste of the Year.Other notable nominees include Rema, Tems, Omah Lay, Yemi Alade, Asake, Tiwa Savage, Simi Kosoko, Majeed, Lojay, Ayra Starr, and Kizz Daniel.
The AAEA celebrates the achievements of African music artists, recognizing their talent and success across various categories, including Best Continental Male Artiste, Continental Artiste of the Year, Continental Album/EP of the Year, Best Continental Int’l Feature, Best Continental Afro RnB Hit, and Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit. This year’s awards ceremony is set to take place on August 17 in Kenya.

During a recent interview, the music manager speaks to general and common problem that happens to artists. “The only artist that can be controlled is the one that has not had a hit. Once they have a hit, the first biggest problem for artists is womanising. For female singers, it’s promiscuity as well.”

It can be noted that the singer recently signed a 5 year contract with Roc Nation, which is owned by Jay-Z. Fans then speculated that the singer is not allowed to be with anyone due to the contract “Ayra Starr isn’t allowed to have a boyfriend or start a family during her five-year contract with Roc Nation.”
