John Mikel Obi, the former captain of the Super Eagles, recently shared his thoughts on his podcast regarding the current Chelsea squad, specifically highlighting Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

According to Mikel Obi, these two players have the potential to control and dominate any team in the Premier League, with the notable exception of Manchester City.

Mikel Obi’s comments came in response to recent events involving Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca and a controversy surrounding Fernandez.

The situation arose when Fernandez was involved in a racism incident linked to a video celebrating the Copa América victory, where offensive chants about French players were recorded.

Maresca had defended Fernandez, emphasizing the need to manage such issues effectively.

Mikel Obi expressed empathy for Fernandez, suggesting that the controversy has marred what should have been an exciting start to his career at Chelsea.

He stressed the importance of making the most out of Fernandez’s exceptional talent. Alongside Caicedo, Fernandez’s presence in Chelsea’s midfield is seen as a significant strength.

Mikel Obi confidently stated that with these two players in the team, Chelsea could potentially outclass any Premier League opponent, though he admitted that Manchester City remains a formidable challenge.

After a brief career on the pitch, the former Brentford winger has chosen to pursue a new path in the fashion industry, following in the footsteps of his mother, renowned designer Victoria Beckham.

Romeo’s football journey began in Arsenal’s youth academy in 2015, before he moved to the Inter Miami academy in 2021, where he spent two years playing with the reserve team.

In the summer of 2023, he joined Brentford’s B team, showing promise as a winger.

Even at the age of 10, Romeo was involved in a Burberry Kids campaign, and by 2011, he had already gained recognition as one of Britain’s best-dressed men, ranking 26th on a prestigious list.

In 2021, Romeo signed a significant £1.2 million endorsement deal with Puma, becoming one of the brand’s ambassadors.

That same year, he graced the cover of L’Uomo Vogue and added modelling work with Yves Saint Laurent to his portfolio.

His flair for fashion continued to grow, and recently, Romeo signed a lucrative contract with a top Parisian fashion agent, Safe Management.

Despite enjoying his time at Brentford, Romeo has decided to fully immerse himself in the fashion world, a career that has long been a passion of his.
