Eric Chelle, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, will guide Nigeria’s national team at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The 47-year-old Malian was officially named head coach on Tuesday, with plans to arrive in Nigeria on Sunday to finalize his contract details.

Chelle’s first major challenge will be CHAN 2024, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Ibrahim Gusau, explained that the new Super Eagles coach will also oversee the CHAN Eagles.

This strategy is part of a broader vision to integrate more domestic league players into the national team.
