Ferdinand Tells Gyokeres to Join Arsenal Instead of Man United
Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has advised transfer target Viktor Gyokeres to consider a move to Arsenal instead of Old Trafford. Speaking on talkSPORT, Ferdinand admitted he’s not fully convinced the Sporting CP striker is the right fit for United at this time. He pointed out that Gyokeres has struggled when up against strong defenders in high-level matches like the Champions League.
“I haven’t seen enough to be fully sold,” he said, noting that physical battles against top-level defenders didn’t seem to work in the striker’s favour. Ferdinand also believes United should prioritise more experienced players right now, rather than taking a risk.
Gyokeres, 27, currently has a €100 million release clause in his contract with Sporting. However, the club is reportedly open to selling if an offer of at least €70 million comes in this summer.
