Funeral Arrangements Announced for Legendary Actor John “Mr Ibu” Okafor
The funeral plans for the late John Ikechukwu Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, have surfaced online. Reports indicate that Mr Ibu died on March 2, 2024, at the age of 63, following a long illness that led to the amputation of his leg.
Mr Ibu’s family released a statement on April 13, announcing that his remains will be buried in his hometown of Amuri, in Enugu State’s Nkanu West Local Government Area.
The funeral proceedings will commence on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, with a unique march organized by Nollywood and Rangers International. The next day will see a Candlelight Procession in his memory.
On June 27, a Christian wake service will be held at Eziokwe Amuri in Enugu State. The following day, Mr Ibu’s body will be moved from the Eastern Nigerian Medical Center to his hometown for the final burial.

Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye from the former duo P-Square, shares his greatest fear. During a recent interview, the singer spoke about his fears and revealed that he is not afraid of death.
Instead, he said he is scared of poverty and has this fear because he has experienced it before. “I am not afraid of death. The only thing I am afraid of in this life is poverty, of being broke.
“I have tasted it [poverty] before. I have been in our house with my parents and siblings, and a bulldozer came and demolished it.”

The singer paused during his performance and said “Personally, I have lost many loved ones, people close to me, so I understand how Wizkid is feeling right now. May his mother, our mother because she was dear to me, rest in peace.”
