Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has confirmed that Victor Osimhen is still not fully fit following the injury he picked up on international duty with Nigeria two weeks ago.

The 26-year-old striker sat out the Turkish champions’ league game against Eyupspor last weekend and was tipped to return in time for their UEFA Champions League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt. However, his name was missing from the 23-man squad that traveled to Germany on Wednesday.

Buruk explained that despite efforts in training, Osimhen wasn’t ready to feature. “Osimhen has been dealing with an injury. We couldn’t use him in the league, and while we hoped he would be ready for this game, it didn’t work out,” Buruk told the club’s official website. “He trained for the past two days, but his feedback made it clear he’s not yet fit to play.”
