Afrobeats makes noise as late Fela Kuti is finally getting recognised at the Grammy Awards after almost 30 years since his death.

While interviewing his son, Seun Kuti, he shared “Fela has been in the hearts of the people for such a long time. Now the Grammys have acknowledged it, and it’s a double victory. It’s bringing balance to a Fela story.”

This award is occurring because Rikke Stein, a close friend of Fela, noted that Afrobeats has been misinterpreted at the Grammys and that it is time for the genre to get its award.

Nigerian singer, Asake, revealed that there were some challenges he faced while growing as an artist.

He revealed in a recent interview how he was sometimes rejected because he sang in Yoruba.

However, he expressed that he has no regrets over his decision. “How I got to where I am today is by God’s grace, self-belief, consistency, and endurance. At some point, a lot of people said no to me; they didn’t allow me to perform at shows because I spoke Yoruba. But thank God I didn’t stop, and I kept believing in myself.”
