Hackers Breach National Bureau of Statistics Website

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) confirmed on Wednesday that its website had been hacked, urging the public to disregard any information published on the platform until the issue is resolved.

“This is to inform the public that the NBS Website has been hacked and we are working to recover it. Please disregard any message or report posted until the website is fully restored. Thank you,” the agency announced on X.

The hack occurred less than 24 hours after the NBS released a report revealing that Nigerians paid N2.23 trillion as ransom between May 2023 and April 2024.

The report also disclosed 51.89 million crime incidents nationwide during the same period, with the North-West recording the highest cases and the South-East the least.

The agency assured Nigerians that efforts are underway to secure and restore the website.

The project was carried out by the Abia State Ministry of Power and Public Utilities through the Abia Rural Water Supply And Sanitation Agency.

This project officially offered its residents clean and filtered water after many years of unclean water and unhealthy living.

The Abia State Commissioner for Power and Public Utilities, Ikechuckwu Monday, shared that this was a move to improve the living conditions of the residents and promote a healthy environment and living.

The royal family, Prince William and Prince Harry, express sadness as they grieve over their 20-year-old cousin who passed away.
