“I Can Never Forget My Roots” – Fashion Designer Vekee James on Staying Grounded
Nigerian Fashion Designer, Vekee James, states that as she grows in her business, she can never forget her roots.
During a recent interview on The Nancy Isime Show, the designer recalled her growing-up experience in Ajegunle.
“The reason I told that story at the event where I went to speak publicly was because of the content that my husband and I posted on social media.
“The comments I got—I saw people on Twitter saying things like, ‘So you built your brand for five years, you know, you got this base where you’re making dresses for people with money and people with class. And then you just go and taint that class with that kind of classless video.’”
VeryDarkMan shares that he was warned by Burna Boy once that the Nigerians he fights for will one day turn on him.
He shared “Burna Boy warned me, he said the Nigerians I’m fighting for will backstab me. They’ll put knife in your neck if they have the opportunity.”
“Fighting for Nigerians is tiring. Same Nigerians that tried to cancel Burna of their own because of what happened in his UK show. Una international star. Just because him tell one person make him Comot from him show, Una join them everybody wan cancel am.”
