Kim Tae-hee Attacked by Armed Robbers During Photoshoot in South Africa
Renowned South Korean actress Kim Tae-hee recently endured a harrowing experience during a photoshoot in South Africa. The incident came to light when esteemed makeup artist Jung Saem Mool recounted the ordeal on a television program.
While in South Africa for a high-profile photoshoot, Kim Tae-hee and her team were invited to a dinner hosted by the local Korean community.
The gathering, initially filled with warmth and hospitality, took a terrifying turn when a group of armed robbers stormed the venue. Jung Saem Mool recalled, “Suddenly, people started screaming. A gang of robbers had entered with guns.”
The assailants confiscated all valuable items, resulting in personal losses exceeding 20 million KRW (approximately $14,000 USD) for Jung Saem Mool.
The robbers also seized the photographer’s equipment. The victims, including children, were forced into a small bathroom, but fortunately, no physical injuries were reported.
Despite the traumatic event, Kim Tae-hee displayed remarkable professionalism by continuing with the photoshoot as planned. However, she decided to cut her trip short, canceling a planned vacation to return home earlier than expected.
This incident, which occurred in January 2005, was so severe that it was covered on the 9 o’clock news in South Korea.
