Popular Nigerian artist and former BBNaija winner, Laycon, has publicly criticized DJ Neptune for allegedly failing to pay him royalties from their collaboration.
On Wednesday, Laycon took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration, claiming that DJ Neptune has not fulfilled his financial obligations for their joint track, “Nobody (Icons Remix).”
In his viral post, Laycon highlighted that it has been four years since the song’s release without any payment from DJ Neptune.
He emphasized the importance of artists honouring their contractual agreements and ensuring transparency in the music industry.
Laycon’s post read: “DJ Neptune, what’s the status of our agreement and revenue split for ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’? It’s been four years; when will it be settled?”
The song, which also featured Joeboy, was released in October 2020 and was dedicated to Laycon’s fanbase, known as Icons. As of now, DJ Neptune has not responded to Laycon’s allegations or provided any clarification on the matter.
