National Grid Collapses for Third Time This Week, Power Generation Plummets
Nigeria’s National Grid has collapsed once again, marking the third incident in a week.
Power generation abruptly halted at around 8:16 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, following two previous collapses earlier this week on Monday and Tuesday.
Prior to the collapse, power generation peaked at 3,968 megawatts at 7 a.m., but by 9 a.m., it had dramatically dropped to just 47MW.
Distribution to power companies was reported at 0.00MW. The cause of the recurring collapse remains unknown as investigations are ongoing.
