Nikki Garcia Secures Restraining Order Against Artem Chigvintsev
American television personality and retired professional wrestler, Nikki Garcia has obtained a restraining order against her estranged husband, Artem Chigvintsev, after he was arrested for domestic violence in August. In her court declaration, Garcia alleged that Chigvintsev physically assaulted her multiple times in front of their 4-year-old son, Matteo, and described a particularly intense incident where he tackled her and pinned her down.
She also reported instances of verbal abuse and previous physical violence. The judge has prohibited Chigvintsev from contacting or approaching Garcia, Matteo, or their home within 100 yards, except for court-ordered visitations.
Garcia requested permission to take Matteo to London for a filming project, but the judge denied this until a full hearing on October 21. Garcia filed for divorce following Chigvintsev’s arrest, but prosecutors announced last week that they would not file charges against him due to a lack of evidence.
