Obasanjo Dismisses Igbo Paternity Rumors, Backs Market

After years of leaving rumors unaddressed, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has finally responded to claims that his paternity is rooted in the Igbo ethnic group from Anambra State.

Speaking during a meeting with the leadership of the Ndigbo Amaka Progressive Market Association at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Obasanjo dismissed the rumors, saying they merely make him laugh. He emphasized that no Nigerian should feel unwelcome in any part of the country, stressing the importance of unity.

During the meeting, Obasanjo also discussed the group’s plans to establish the Owerri Central Market, a project that has been in consideration since the creation of Imo State. He expressed his support for the initiative and his willingness to lead the marketing efforts, noting that the market could become the best of its kind in the country. Obasanjo also appreciated the interest and support shown by the governor, expressing confidence in the project’s success.

Viral Video Sparks Outrage as Delta Police Officer Shoots Restrained Suspect

A viral clip has made its way online showing a police officer in Delta State shooting a suspect who had already been restrained.

It can be noted that the suspect was pleading, claiming he had been framed and deceived, and said he would lead them to the right place.

However, while he was pleading, the police officer shot him. The officer later stated that the suspect was armed with a gun.

It was later revealed that the police officer has been arrested, as it is against the law to shoot a restrained suspect.

24 Children Abducted from Orphanage in Kogi State

It was reported by the Kogi State Government that 24 children were abducted from an orphanage home. It was shared that this happened on the 26th of April, Sunday, and gunmen were seen in the area that day.

The information was shared by the Commissioner of Information, Kingsley Fanwo, who shared this sad news and described it as unfortunate.

“We condemn in strong terms the abduction of innocent children from an orphanage, the government is working closely with security operatives to ensure their safe return,”
