President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Friday evening after a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea. His Gulfstream jet landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 6:30 pm, marking his 22nd foreign trip since taking office 15 months ago.

He was greeted by senior government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.

During his visit, President Tinubu and Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo signed an agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project, which will enhance cooperation on gas exploration and create job opportunities. Tinubu highlighted the agreement’s potential to promote peace, security, and economic growth in Africa. He also addressed the need for African leaders to tackle issues such as skill migration, tribalism, and outdated systems to foster development and retain talent on the continent.

“The first two weeks speak to laying a foundation on civic responsibility. The next two weeks will look at career mapping, basic accounting literacy skills, business planning and access to finance. The final two weeks, we intend to have focused corps-stream-specific training aligned with the corps member’s designated stream based on his choice, academic background and skills profile.”
