PDP tells Fubara to Remain in PDP to Rebuild Rivers After His Return To Office
Governor Siminalayi Fubara has returned to office in Rivers State after President Bola Tinubu lifted the six-month state of emergency that pushed him, his deputy, and the State House of Assembly out of power. The move, announced on September 17, 2025, marked the end of a tense period in the oil-rich state, where political clashes and governance breakdowns had led to federal intervention.
With his reinstatement, the Lagos chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sent a clear message to Fubara: stay loyal to the party and focus on rebuilding Rivers. The chapter urged him not to abandon the PDP, calling on him to show courage, restore confidence in leadership, and make sure the people feel the impact of good governance after months of uncertainty.
The Rivers crisis had deepened earlier this year with sharp disagreements between Fubara and the state legislature, as well as disputes over budgets and widespread disruptions to governance. Violence and damage to vital oil facilities made matters worse, prompting the federal government to step in with emergency rule. A retired navy chief, Ibok Ekwe Ibas, was temporarily put in charge until order was restored.
Now that the emergency is over, expectations are high. The Lagos PDP believes this is Fubara’s chance to set Rivers on a new path, mend divisions, and prove his commitment to both his people and his party.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Speaks on Forgiveness and Moving Forward
First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has shared that she has forgiven those who betrayed her husband during the 2023 general elections.
She revealed this as she marked a new age, reflecting on what the future holds. She emphasized that she holds no grudge against anyone.
“I do not have anything against anyone. The question is how I stopped feeling the betrayal? I knew the grace factor was evident, and the Holy Spirit continually comforted me. I chose never to avenge myself, understanding that it is God’s prerogative. Mine is to thank Him for fighting for us. If God decides to fight your battles and you have won, is there anything else that God missed and you wanted to fix? Nothing. So, let it go.”
