On the eve of the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, Barcelona’s midfield star Pedri has made it clear where his priorities lie. For him, team glory comes before personal accolades.

The Spanish international, who is among the leading contenders for this year’s award, said he would rather lift the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona than take home football’s most prestigious individual honor.

“The Ballon d’Or? I would rather win the Champions League with Barcelona,” Pedri said in an interview. “I’ve never placed much value on individual trophies. What really matters to me is my team winning games and making our fans proud.”

Pedri’s outstanding form for both Barcelona and Spain has earned him a spot on the shortlist for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, where he will go head-to-head with players like Ousmane Dembele, Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah, Vitinha, and Raphinha.
