Peter Obi Urges Nigerian Students to Seek Opportunities Abroad Until Nigeria Is Fixed
In a recent visit to two higher education institutions in Anambra State, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, encouraged Nigerian students aspiring for better opportunities abroad to pursue their dreams if local circumstances make it challenging to thrive.
Addressing this topic candidly, Obi highlighted that Nigeria’s economic and educational landscape has driven many talented young people to seek work overseas, and he understands their motivations.
During his visit, Obi made donations to Peter University in Achina/Onneh and the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu, stressing his commitment to uplifting education in Nigeria.
At the College of Nursing Sciences, he spoke directly to the students, reinforcing his dedication to backing institutions that build skill, character, and professionalism, qualities that he sees as crucial for the nation’s future.
Reflecting on his visit, he noted that he was fulfilling a promise he made earlier, mentioning he would have been there last year if not for election obligations.
He reminded the students that leaders must work to build public trust by following through on commitments, especially when it comes to education, which he views as a powerful tool for personal and national growth.
Encouraging openness to global opportunities, Obi expressed his opinion that students should not be restricted by policies that may limit them from working abroad.
Addressing the Nursing Council’s approach to restricting graduates from migrating, he voiced his belief that students deserve the freedom to seek better prospects outside Nigeria if they choose.
He added that, ideally, the goal should be to build a Nigeria where young people would naturally want to stay or, if they go abroad, would be eager to return to a prosperous homeland.
Earlier in the day, Obi also shared inspiring words with students at Peter University, emphasizing that a strong academic foundation is key to personal empowerment and national advancement.
He encouraged students to treat their education as an investment in their future, one that will yield results in their personal lives and the larger society.
He stressed the transformative potential of quality education, which he believes can pave the way for a better Nigeria.

Analyst Says Tinubu Not Responsible for Recent U.S.-Linked Airstrike Claims
Nigerian news analyst, Mahmud Jega, has shared his opinion on the recent airstrike carried out by the United States in Nigeria, stating that Nigerians should not blame President Bola Tinubu for the incident.
Jega made this statement during a recent interview, where he said he does not believe many people will hold the Tinubu administration responsible, as Donald Trump had issued threats against Nigeria long before Tinubu’s administration.
“No, I don’t think many people will blame the Tinubu administration for what is happening now because President Donald Trump, when he first made the threats, it was clearly not in coordination with the Tinubu administration or the government of Nigeria,” Jega said.
