In a significant development, Bola Tinubu has launched a revamped Student Loan Scheme at Aso Rock, the heart of the nation’s capital.

The Federal Government recently introduced changes to the scheme, officially marking its launch.

During a ceremony in Abuja, President Tinubu is currently leading a presidential committee tasked with overseeing the scheme’s implementation.

This follows the President’s allocation of ₦35 billion to kickstart the initiative, aimed at benefiting an initial group of 70,000 students through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund).

Jim Ovia, heading the Governing Board of NELFund, has already authorized the disbursement of loans to eligible candidates under Tinubu’s direction, during the board’s inaugural session in Abuja last month.

At the ongoing inauguration event at the Presidential Villa, Tinubu is expected to outline the team’s objectives to ensure the scheme aligns with its intended goals.
