Ronaldo Defends Joao Felix Against Criticism for Joining Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo has fired back at critics who questioned João Félix’s decision to join Al Nassr.
Félix completed a summer move to the Saudi Pro League club in a deal worth £26 million, with add-ons that could take it up to £43 million, after ending his spell at Chelsea. The transfer caused debate, with many wondering why a 25-year-old in his prime would leave European football for the Middle East.
Since making the switch, Félix has hit the ground running. He scored a hat-trick on his debut for Al Nassr and has already provided an assist in just five appearances.
Despite this, Portuguese podcast Chuveirinho recently criticised the forward’s choice, suggesting it was a step down. Ronaldo, who shares the dressing room with Félix at Al Nassr, was quick to respond. Commenting on a clip from the podcast on Instagram, he wrote:
“Idiots don’t understand anything about football, yet they still give their opinions.”
