Simi Regrets Music Comments, Clarifies Misunderstanding
Nigerian singer Simi has expressed regret over her recent comments about her knowledge of music and her struggle to keep up with trends. In a recent interview, she mentioned that she mainly listens to her own music and that of her husband, Adekunle Gold, which led to confusion and criticism.
In a follow-up post on X, Simi clarified that her remarks were meant casually and not literally. She explained that she does enjoy music and regularly shares her favorite songs on Twitter. Simi acknowledged that her statements might have seemed out of touch or boastful, but emphasized that she struggles with staying current on various trends, not just music. She also expressed disappointment that her informal comments were taken out of context and criticized for being misleading. Despite the backlash, Simi is moving on and focusing on her music.

In a recent interview with Korty EO, the singer shared that it was against his father to pursue music. His mother then recalled how he came to turn them down on studying abroad and stated he wanted to stay and learn in Nigeria.
