The 2025 AFL Grand Final in Melbourne had more than football on display as hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg lit up the Melbourne Cricket Ground with a lively 14-minute pre-match performance.

Taking the stage in white with dancers, fireworks, and a marching band behind him, Snoop rolled through some of his biggest hits, including Drop It Like It’s Hot, Nuthin’ But a G Thang, Signs, and The Next Episode. The set was tailored for the family crowd, and some lyrics were reworked to keep things clean.

One of the standout moments came when Jessica Mauboy joined him for a duet of Beautiful. The crowd roared as the two shared the stage.

Local stars also had their shine, with Baker Boy bringing his trademark flair and Tash Sultana contributing to the musical mix, giving the show a strong homegrown feel. Snoop later said that performing at such a major sporting event was a dream experience and spoke about the respect he has for Australian sport and its culture.

For many in the crowd of almost 100,000, his performance was an entertainment, and also one of the highlights of the day. Fans on social media have started calling it one of the most memorable AFL Grand Final shows in years.
