The wait is over. Season 5 of The Chosen, titled Last Supper, officially arrived today, June 15, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video. Known for bringing a fresh, emotional, and human lens to the story of Jesus and his disciples, this new season picks up right where things were getting intense — leading viewers straight into the final days before the crucifixion.

This chapter is different as it shows the weight of betrayal, loyalty, confusion, and purpose all come crashing together as the story moves toward the Last Supper — a turning point not just in the life of Jesus, but in the lives of those closest to him.

Additionally, the season is being released in batches, rather than all at once:
  • June 15: Episodes 1 and 2 dropped today.
  • June 22: Episodes 3, 4, and 5 will follow.
  • June 29: The final three episodes (6, 7, and 8) will wrap up the season.

Right now, it’s only available to stream on Prime Video. If you already have an Amazon Prime subscription, it’s included; If not, there’s the option to subscribe to just Prime Video by itself.

But here’s the good news — even if you can’t access it now, the show will be made available for free in a few months. After 90 days, you’ll be able to watch it on The Chosen app, the show’s website, and even YouTube — just like earlier seasons.

What’s Season 5 About?

This season focuses on the final week of Jesus’s ministry — the week Christians often refer to as “Holy Week.” It includes emotionally charged scenes like the cleansing of the temple, Judas’s growing inner conflict, intimate conversations among the disciples, and of course, the iconic Last Supper.

Moreover, the way the series handles these moments isn’t like most Biblical dramas. It doesn’t just move through events, it lets you feel them.

Jonathan Roumie returns once again as Jesus, continuing his quiet but commanding portrayal. Alongside him, the familiar ensemble cast brings depth to characters like Matthew, Peter, Mary Magdalene, and Judas — each one facing personal battles as the shadow of betrayal and sacrifice looms.

From Theaters to Your Living Room

Before it arrived on streaming, parts of Season 5 were actually shown in cinemas across the U.S. and beyond. The theatrical release performed incredibly well, with fans showing up in large numbers. It reminded everyone just how much love and community surrounds this show.

Finally, if you’re wondering what comes next, yes — there’s more. Season 6, which will cover Jesus’s trial and crucifixion, is already in the works, with filming already underway in parts of the U.S. and Europe. And the creators plan to take the story all the way through the resurrection with Season 7, which will be the final chapter.
