Three confirmed dead in a helicopter crash in the waters off the coast of port Harcourt Rivers state
The accident, which is under investigation, occurred despite prompt rescue efforts. Unfortunately, the three lives on board could not be saved. According to Channels Television, the incident happened at 11:22 AM on Thursday in the Port Harcourt waterways.
The helicopter, a Sikorsky SK76 with registration 5NBQG, operated by East Wind Aviation, was traveling from Port Harcourt Military Base (DNPM) to the Nuimantan oil rig when the mishap occurred.
Odutayo Oluseyi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, confirmed that eight people were on board at the time of the accident.

Investigations has been going on to find the cause of the incident.The aircraft went down near Bonny Finima in the Atlantic Ocean, and rescue operations have been activated.
