Valencia manager Carlos Corberán has expressed high hopes for Umar Sadiq following the striker’s impressive debut goal for the club.

Sadiq found the back of the net during his first full match as Valencia edged out a 2-0 victory over Ourense in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday night.

The Nigerian international secured the second goal for Los Ches in the 78th minute, sealing their progression in the competition.

Speaking after the game, Corberán heaped praise on the 26-year-old forward, emphasizing his instinct for scoring.

He described Sadiq’s goal as a result of a brilliant individual effort, adding that it would serve as a confidence booster for the player moving forward.

“He has shown his ability to stay close to the goal and create chances. That individual play leading to his goal was remarkable, and I believe it’s a step forward in building his confidence.

This will help him contribute even more to the team,” Corberán remarked.
