What Is Hantavirus? Here’s What to Know About the Hantavirus Disease
Concerns are growing online following discussions about hantavirus, a disease that can spread to humans through contact with infected rodents.
According to health experts, hantavirus can be transmitted by inhaling particles from infected rodent urine, droppings, or saliva. Early symptoms often begin like the flu, including fever, fatigue, and muscle aches, before becoming more serious in severe cases.
Despite fears circulating online, there is currently no global outbreak or lockdown related to hantavirus. Medical experts also state that the disease is rare, though there have been reported cases in different parts of the world over the years.
Treatment mainly focuses on supportive medical care, especially early treatment to reduce complications.
