Wizkid’s New Album Morayo Makes Billboard 200 Debut and Honors His Late Mother
Wizkid’s latest album, Morayo, has made a remarkable entry into the prestigious Billboard 200 chart.
The album debuted at the 98th position, selling an impressive 13,000 units in its first week of release.
This achievement reflects Wizkid’s global appeal and the consistent love he receives from fans worldwide.
Chart Data, a platform known for tracking music charts, shared the news on X, formerly Twitter, saying, Wizkid’s Morayo debuts at 98 on this week’s Billboard 200 with 13K sold.
This marks another milestone in Wizkid’s illustrious career as Morayo becomes his fourth album to secure a spot on the Billboard 200.
Released on November 22, 2024, Morayo is a deeply personal project for Wizkid.
The album is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
Wizkid had often spoken about the strong bond he shared with his mother, describing her as his pillar of strength and a source of inspiration.
The album’s title, Morayo, shows this connection, as it means I have found joy in Yoruba, symbolizing a journey of healing and remembrance.

VDM protested and demanded that the company take accountability and care for its victims instead of ignoring the issues. The protest ended up blocking the road in Auchi, Edo State, preventing Dangote trucks from operating.
