2Face Apologises for Saying Men Cannot be Sexually Committed to One Woman
Nigerian singer 2Face has issued a public apology following the backlash over his recent controversial comment. He caused outrage after telling Nedu Wazobia in an interview that men are not naturally wired to be sexually committed to one woman. His statement quickly stirred reactions online, with many criticizing him heavily.
Addressing the controversy in a video shared on his Instagram page, the 49-year-old admitted he got it wrong. “I messed up with what I said. I really, really messed up how I expressed myself. I know I’ll pay the price for it and face the consequences,” 2Face said. He explained that his intention was to be understood, but admitted his words came out the wrong way. He also apologized directly to his wife, Annie Idibia.
“Calling me a legend is an honour, but this particular statement of mine was very unlegendary,” he added. 2Face said the overwhelming reactions made him realize the love and respect people have for him, and he regrets making careless remarks that could ruin that image. “I’m sorry, truly sorry,” he concluded.
