Kanye West Hints at Retirement as Rich The Kid Announces New Collaboration

Rapper Rich The Kid shared a text message exchange suggesting that Kanye West, now known as Ye, is considering retiring from music. In the since-deleted screenshot, Ye stated, “I am retiring from professional music,” citing uncertainty about his next steps in the industry. However, Rich The Kid reacted with disbelief, urging Ye not to retire and emphasizing the impact of their collaborative work.
Shortly after posting the texts, Rich The Kid announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he is releasing new music featuring Ye on his upcoming album, Life’s a Gamble, set to drop on July 19. The album includes a track with Ye titled “Plain Jane” and another single featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Peso Pluma. Their previous collaboration, “Carnival,” with Playboi Carti and Ty Dolla $ign, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Despite Ye’s retirement hint, he and Ty Dolla $ign are scheduled to bring their Vultures listening experience to Korea on August 23. Their follow-up project, Vultures 2, which won them a 2024 BET Award for Best Group, is reportedly nearly complete and could be released soon.
