Naira Marley Speaks on His Relationship With Mohbad and What Really Happened

Naira Marley has once again become a hot topic online after he opened up about his late former signee, Mohbad. In a video that surfaced yesterday, the Marlian Music boss spoke at length about his relationship with Mohbad and the personal battles the young artist allegedly faced.
Marley claimed Mohbad got involved with a dangerous substance popularly known as “Ice,” something he said was introduced by the people around him. According to him, he repeatedly warned Mohbad to stay away from it, and at some point, Mohbad admitted it was stress that pushed him into it. Marley said the late singer even apologized for some of his actions, stressing that the struggles weren’t influenced by him or his label.
This has drawn mixed reactions across social media. While some fans believe Marley is finally sharing the truth, others are still not convinced, accusing him of trying to clear his name. One comment that caught attention read, “So what are you giving Zinolesky that made him look like Opkoroko aba?”
The story of Mohbad and Naira Marley goes beyond this new video. Mohbad was signed to Marlian Music in 2019 but later left in 2022 after accusing Marley’s team of assault and withholding royalties. Their fallout was messy and public, and things got even more heated after Mohbad tragically passed away in September 2023. His death started a nationwide protests and the #JusticeForMohbad movement.
