Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” Earns RIAA Gold Certification
Burna Boy’s album *Love, Damini*, released in 2022, has sold 500,000 copies in the U.S., earning an RIAA Gold certification. The album, which includes the hit song “Last Last” (peaking at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100), has helped establish Burna Boy as one of Africa’s biggest music stars.
Collaborations like “For My Hand” with Ed Sheeran, along with appearances from J Hus, J Balvin, and Khalid, added to the album’s global success. *Love, Damini* now joins other Nigerian albums like Wizkid’s *Made In Lagos*, Rema’s *Raves & Roses (Ultra)*, and Tems’ *For Broken Ears* in receiving RIAA Gold certification. These albums all feature songs that made it to the Billboard Hot 100, including Wizkid’s “Essence” remix (No. 9), Rema’s “Calm Down” (No. 3), and Tems’ “Free Mind.”

Mr Eazi Shares Lessons From Early Business Loss
Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has opened up about business and how he actually failed before becoming successful.
In a recent interview, the singer shared that he borrowed €40,000 from his uncle to start a business, but the venture failed.
“I remember one time I took money from my uncle to do business; the business went south. And then he was chasing me for the money… I was so embarrassed that my dad had to pay,” he said.
He added that the experience sharpened his mindset on business.

Popular Nigerian actress Oby Kechere, known for her role as “Madam Koi Koi,” has unfortunately passed away after battling an illness.
The news was revealed by the Directors Guild of Nigeria, which stated “It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Madam Cecilia Oby Kechere, Vice Chairman of the DGN Abuja Chapter.
“We were informed yesterday that she passed on Monday, 27th April 2026, after a prolonged illness.”
