Christian Association of Nigerians Reacts to Jos Attack on Palm Sunday
The Christian Association of Nigerians (CAN) reacts to the terrible news of the attack in Jos which even occurred on Palm Sunday.
It can be noted that the attack occurred in Angwan Rukuba, Gari Ya Waye area of Jos North, Plateau State.
The association cried out that a day meant for peace became bloodshed.
“We mourn. We grieve. But we must also speak the truth. How did we get here? How is it that people can no longer feel safe in their own homes? How is it that, even on a sacred day, communities are left exposed to such terror? Nigerians are tired of mourning. Nigerians are tired of statements.”
It has been recorded that UNICEF has noted that Nigeria is the country with the highest number of children who have not received vaccines.
The organisation shared that especially children in urban areas are not accessible to vaccines, and this affects the numbers in Nigeria and the health of children.
“Today’s event is more than a launch. It is a shared political and moral commitment to the right of every Nigerian child to life-saving vaccines, regardless of where they are born or live.”
They shared the importance of the vaccine.
A Boko Haram video goes viral and sparks reactions and concern from Nigerians.
It has been noted that the terrorists made a video stating that their goal is either to convert or be killed. They are basing their actions on the teachings of Prophet Mohammed’s Jihad.
The terrorists also shared that Nigerians should expect more attacks, especially in Borno.
