“He Was Still Smiling” – AY Shares Emotional Tribute To Alex Ekubo
Nigerian comedian AY speaks on late actor Alex Ekubo and shares how his last moments were.
He revealed how he was with the actor in the hospital in his last moments and shared that he smiled as he breathed his last breath.
“I was there. I saw you still smiling even in death. I saw the tears from friends and family. And honestly, a part of me is still in shock. Rest well my brother. You will be remembered beyond the lights, the cameras, and the fame.”
It can be recalled that the actor passed away due to cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2024 and underwent surgery, in which he was stable for the past 2 years. But was taken to hospital after the liver failed, which he passed away from.

Nigerian rapper Falz has reacted to comments made by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, regarding the pressure of governing the country.
It can be recalled that the First Lady said young Nigerians should support the government, adding that those in leadership are under pressure.
Reacting to her remarks, Falz said “What do you mean, pressure on the government? Did anyone beg you to take up this work?
“If I remember clearly, the campaign slogan for this current administration was ‘Emi Lokan.’ Do you know what that translates to in English? It is my turn. I’ve never seen anything more absurd than that in my entire life.”

Nigerian filmmaker Funke Akindele has spoken about her admiration for Tyler Perry, revealing that his work has inspired her journey as a filmmaker.

Nigerian actor IK Ogbonna has broken his silence following the death of his close friend, Alex Ekubo.
Following Alex’s passing, many colleagues paid tribute to the late actor. IK, who was known to be one of Alex’s closest friends, shared an emotional message reflecting on their friendship.
He wrote “On May 11th, I lost my best friend and brother, Alexx. Nothing prepares you for a loss like that. For the past two months, I’ve been trying to understand life. Trying to understand loss.
