The Independent Media and Policy Initiative (IMPI) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s policies, suggesting they will positively influence the Nigerian economy despite some short-term challenges. Niyi Akinsiju, Chairman of IMPI, drew parallels between Tinubu’s policy approach and that of former Western leaders, noting how initially criticized policies later proved successful. He highlighted how President Ronald Reagan’s economic strategies, once dubbed “voodoo” economics, eventually led to significant prosperity, drawing a similar hopeful outlook for Tinubu’s initiatives.

Akinsiju also detailed IMPI’s analysis of Tinubu’s recent speech, pointing out the cost-effectiveness of compressed natural gas (CNG) compared to petrol. He praised the administration’s ongoing projects, including the Consumer Credit Corporation and the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, which have already disbursed over N2.5 billion. Additionally, Tinubu’s iDICE program, designed to boost the tech industry, promises job creation and innovation. IMPI also commended Tinubu for reducing debt servicing costs and enhancing national revenue without raising taxes or increasing debt.
