Imposters Arrested for Selling Pirated Textbooks to Students in University Scam
Two suspects were arrested on July 25, 2024, for impersonating academic staff and coercing university students to purchase pirated textbooks under the threat of failing their courses.
The suspects, who previously targeted Kano State Polytechnic, admitted to selling poor-quality, pirated books, claiming they were driven by unemployment.
The university administration has condemned this scam, describing it as a disturbing trend in tertiary institutions.
They have pledged to enhance security measures and educate students to prevent future occurrences. The suspects are currently in police custody for further investigation.

Akpabio Represents Tinubu at Lagos Bridge Commissioning
It has been reported that Bola Ahmed Tinubu was absent at the commissioning of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge, which took place on April 8, 2026.
However, Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented the President and carried out the ceremony.
As he commissioned the project, he stated “On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I commission these projects.”

The commissioning will take place on April 8 and 9, 2026.

Opebi, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Ojota, and Victoria Island.
